About WOW

Workmen of the Word was started by a desire within Lois Lindley and a need at her church, Granada Heights Friends Church in La Mirada, CA. In 1972, Lois Lindley wrote a few lessons on Proverbs for the women’s bible study. Within a year, the group had grown from 30 to 75 women. Lois felt the Lord leading her to continue writing studies, so she started at the beginning; Genesis through Deuteronomy. From there, the studies grew quickly to include a children’s program and almost every book in the bible. Lois’ knowledge of scriptures was a testament to her faith and total reliance on Christ. Lois passed away in 2008 after a long battle with cancer.

Her eldest daughter, Judi Hammer, faithfully took over the day to day operations of WOW and continued to fulfill orders. Today, Judi’s youngest daughter, Amy Stokke is taking up the torch and continuing to bring WOW to the world.
